Sage is part of the aromatic herb family including laurel, rosemary, and thyme among others. It is an easily recognizable aroma for someone who is used to cooking and seasoning with these herbs.

It can be delicately perceived in some dry White Wines. Some examples are those produced from the Friulano, Sauvignon, and Moscato Bianco grape varieties.
