Five fun games to play with friends using TasterPlace Aromas

1.   Guess the Aroma

Materials: 1 or more collections of Aromas, blindfold.

Players: 2 or more.

Preparation: Open the bottles and place them on the table.

Rules:

·      One player is blindfolded.

·      Another player gives him a bottle with a specific aroma.

·      The blindfolded player smells and must guess the aroma.

·      1 point for each aroma guessed.

Winner: Whoever accumulates the most points.

2. The Aroma Dice Game

Materials: Dice, paper, pen, aromas from the collections, wine.

Players: 2 or more.

Preparation: Assign a number on the dice to each aroma in the kit.

Rules:

·      One player rolls the dice.

·      He or she must identify the aroma associated with the number on the die and describe it using at least 3 words (e.g. “fruity, sweet, black cherry”).

·      Other players decide if the identification and description are valid.

Variations: Make a toast with a wine that contains a note similar to the guessed aroma!

3. Hunt for the Perfect Wine

Materials: Different wines (with aromatic profiles that are close to the samples in the kit), paper, pen.

Players: 3 or more.

Preparation: Choose 3-4 wines and catalog their main aromas.

Rules:

·      A player smells an aroma from the box and describes it.

·      The others must choose which wine, in their opinion, contains the aroma.

·      1 point for the one who guesses correctly.

Winner: The player with the most points.

4. Aroma Memory 

Materials: Aromas from the collections, paper with the names of the aromas.

Players: 2 or more.

Preparation: Distribute the aromas on a table. Each aroma has a name written on a card (which is covered).

Rules:

·      Players take turns picking up a card and trying to match the name with the correct aroma.

·      If they get it wrong, they put the card back in its place.

·      The winner is the one who completes the most matches.

5. The Sommelier Tournament

Materials: Aromas from the collections, paper, pen, a list of categories (e.g. “floral aromas”, “fruity aromas”).

Players: 4 or more.

Preparation: Organize a list of categories and match it with the aromas from the collection.

Rules:

·      Players pick an aroma from the kit and smell it.

·      They must declare which category it belongs to (e.g. “fruity”) and guess the specific aroma.

·      1 point for the correct category, 2 points for the correct name.
