Orange

This is an aroma that is well-known by everyone and is the most easily recognizable of all citrus fruit.

In beer, the Orange aroma (along with other citrus aromas) is always a positive attribute and can be traced back to the hops used in beer production.

Many hops around the world lend orange and citrus aromas to beer. One of the most typical hops for the orange aroma is the North American Amarillo hops, while Australian hops tend to produce grapefruit aromas.

Delicate citrus notes can be found in beers made with wheat (Weiss beers), or in Saison and Blanche beers which include bitter orange peel in their recipes. Citrus can also be found in the Lambic, some Belgian Tripel, German Bock and English Stout styles of beer.
