Lemon

The Lemon aroma is very characteristic of White Wine. It is due to the limonene molecule. It is an aroma often associated with the smell of detergents or candies. In a blind smell test it is recognized by almost everyone.

It is present in the aromatic bouquet of many dry White Wines. Notable examples are wines produced from the grape varieties Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon, and Riesling, and it is also found in Prosecco.
