Tobacco
The Tobacco leaf aroma is a highly recognizable scent due to its notoriety in cigarettes and because it is also (if surprisingly) frequently used in the preparation of fragrances and body products. It can be perceived in high-quality Chocolate and Wines, but is difficult to recognize because it is usually found in delicate quantities.
The tobacco aroma is present in many cocoa types as a background smell.
In wines, it is a tertiary aroma and hence due to the barrel-aging process. It can be perceived in Red Wines such as Bordeaux and Barolo, but also in some White Wines such as Chardonnay that has been barrel-aged.
